We have decided to dedicate a separate page on the website for a Agrasar Bachpan centre that is fully supported by the residents of Gurugram and other responsible citizens. The individual supporters can therefore remain updated of the change their contribution is making without having to wait for quarterly reports..

Around 150 Jhuggis out of 400 in a jhuggi-cluster near Sikanderpur, Gurugram got burnt to ashes by a massive fire on 25 May 2017. The Jhuggi-cluster is now back on track to normal course of life with support from many citizens and some socially-concerned organizations working in Gurugram.

Agrasar played a key role in pooling need-based resources and coordinating efforts from various sources. Amidst the rehabilitation work, Agrasar decided to carry out a formal survey to understand the status of Education upon realizing that many children do not go to schools.

It was found that there are at least 150 children in the affected basti that are not even enrolled in any form of school. Many other challenges related to quality of Education also emerged from the survey.

Agrasar sought support from responsible individuals for setting up and running a learning centre for at least 100 children. The aim is to teach children, bring them to age-appropriate learning level and then mainstream them into formal education.
