Launching of the National Skills Development Policy in 2009 was a developmental milestone in the large-scale efforts by the government, corporations and the industry associations which had been working towards its execution. Agrasar entered into this sector after realizing that despite such a big scale effort, millions of people who are at the bottom of the socio-economic ladder still remained unemployable. They are being covered neither by the old nor the upcoming players due to the high fee structure. These persons have not had quality education in their schools and colleges and are unable to get even the entry-level positions.

We, at Agrasar, work to provide need based training to such candidates to increase their employability in the new economy.

The biggest question being faced by all vocational training providers across the country is what competencies to train people in. The challenge is to address the needs of the huge population by providing skills in order to make them employable and help them secure decent work. There is no established pool of knowledge, which can be relied upon. National Occupational Standards being developed by NSDC and the respective Sector Skill Councils provide a good framework but more in-depth and localized effort is required to actually design a program, which can meet the expectations of the industry and the aptitude and aspirations of the candidates. At Agrasar, we strive to evolve the curriculum as per the industry needs by taking current knowledge base to the next level.
