Who are we
We are a community-centric organisation focused on building awareness, resilience, and empathy to enable safer, more dignified lives for children and families.
Empathy at the heart of change
Since its inception in 2010, Agrasar has been rooted in the belief that dignity, empathy, and opportunity are rights not privileges.
What began as a small effort to support migrant workers in Gurugram has grown into a movement that connects families, schools, and workplaces through trust and inclusion.

Our Approach
We use a culturally sensitive approach to engage with the communities in an empathic and respectful way. Instead of running programs for them, our work is embedded within the community, enabling us to learn from them and progress with them.

Over the years, we have established trusted relationships with “our” communities, making us part of them as well as their change journey.
We do this by engaging across 5 key spaces:
Families & Caregivers:
We build awareness around child rights, emotional well-being, and non-violent discipline through sessions and activities.
Children & Youth:
Through classroom sessions and solidarity groups, we empower children to express emotions, build empathy, and stand up against violence—laying the foundation for peaceful platforms for expressing and voicing thoughts.
Government Systems:
We collaborate with local departments, school systems, and labour offices to strengthen safety nets, influence implementation, and ensure entitlements reach migrant communities.
Employers & Workplaces:
We address workplace violations like forced labour, withheld wages, and mistreatment through our Labourline intervention—offering legal aid and mediation.
Communities & Collectives:
We nurture women-led enterprises, support livelihood building, and create platforms for community ownership of change and agency—ensuring that progress is led sustainably by the community.

Our Impact
